Kiki Mordi reveals she received threats over investigation


For investigating and exposing sexual harassment in some West African universities, BBC Africa Eye journalist, Kiki Mordi, has claimed that she received threats after completing her investigations. Mordi who disclosed this in an interview she had with Sahara Reporters, said though there are subtle threats, she is not bothered because the BBC takes the security of employees seriously. 

According to her, the team's unity helped in calming her nerves before she embarked on the investigation. Going further, she also revealed that she had to go through training, reading and research before the investigation. 

She added that the change she really desire has started manifesting since the release of the documentary. However, she note that more should be done to halt sexual harassment in African universities. 
“I am happy that a lot is changing already since the documentary was release and I can confirm to you that one of the lecturers at the University of Lagos caught sexually harassing a prospective student has been dismissed by the institution,” she said. “I believe it doesn’t stop there until there is a conviction. We have to break that culture of impunity,” she said.

A Nigerian On-Air Personality identified as Kiki Mordi became the talk of the town after she did a documentary with BBC to expose university lecturers who sleep with female students in exchange for good grades. 

Mordi's documentary has exposed two lecturers in top universities in West Africa, the University of Lagos and the University of Ghana. 
The lecturers were caught on camera trying to coerce students into sleeping with them for excellent results. 
The young woman has now revealed that she is a university drop-out. Mordi revealed that she wishes to go back to school to complete her education.

Nigerian feminist calls out Falz for not saying anything about UNILAG lecturer molestation scandal

- The Nigerian social media has recently been buzzing with the report of a UNILAG lecturer and Foursquare church pastor, Dr Boniface Igbeneghu

- The lecturer had been exposed in a documentary carried out by BBC for soliciting for sexual favours from a ladyThe Nigerian education system has been known to have been corrupted by a number of bad eggs in the form of lecturers seeking sexual favours from students and harassing them if they decline. 

The news of one senior lecturer at the University of Lagos, Dr Boniface Igbeneghu, recently shook social media after he was caught on tape soliciting intimacy from an undercover journalist posing as a 17-year-old minor seeking admission at the school. 

The now viral video raised serious reactions on social media as Nigerians lambasted the lecturer and also shared their own personal experiences with some of them. Interestingly, a Nigerian feminist on social media, Ozzy Etomi, has now focused her attention on popular rapper, Falz. She slammed him for not yet commenting on the viral sex for grades scandal.
